Supernatural horror game for PC

Faith 64 is a free adventure title for PC developed by The Bonsai Treehouse. It is an unofficial remake and pseudo port of the cult horror game, FAITH: The Unholy Trinity. It was specifically designed to look and feel as if it was made for the classic Nintendo 64 home console.

Compared to the original FAITH and FAITH: Chapter II games, the biggest notable change in Faith 64 is the transition from retro 8-bit graphics to full 3D. It also introduces new animations for iconic scenes, as well as other modern gaming options that players will appreciate and enjoy.

Finishing the job

The first FAITH game was a sleeper hit among horror fans for its distinct retro pixel graphics and compelling story. It spawned two more sequels and was later compiled into the definitive FAITH: The Unholy Trinity collection. Fast-forward a few years, another developer made a remake of sorts for this cult classic, and its biggest, defining feature is the jump from 8-bit to full 3D graphics.

FAITH 64 remains faithful to the original story but makes key improvements that enhance the overall experience for new and returning players. Apart from the aforementioned animated scenes, there's a new cinematic widescreen presentation. Some of the series' most iconic locations have also been reimagined as 3D models, rendered in a low-poly art style. It also features gamepad support in addition to keyboard-mouse controls.

The multiple endings and Easter eggs from the original trilogy have made their way here, as well. As a bonus, some of the removed content from Chapter One is included in this version to give fans a nice surprise. Now, just be aware that it only covers the first chapter story-wise. Hopefully, the other two episodes get the same treatment in the future.

Definitive Chapter One experience

To sum up, if you're a fan of the FAITH games and thoroughly enjoyed playing them. Faith 64 presents a new way to experience it all over again that you never knew could be possible. It just feels more immersive and complete than the original. Here's to hoping Two and Three are in the works. Highly recommended.
